External Turret

An outrigger is attached on the bow of the floating structure equipped with external turret mooring system. The turret with large diameter bearing is installed on the far end of the outrigger. Hawsers and risers are installed on the bottom of the turret. Restoring force will be induced on the hawser due to the displacement of the floating structure. The floating structure will be driven to the balance position under the action of the restoring force. Meanwhile, it can weathervane freely around the mooring point under the action of environmental loading to reduce the dynamic response.

Swivels are located in the turret. Oil, gas and water can be transferred via the riser between the floating structure and underwater terminal.

Typically the external turret mooring system is used in shallow water. It is especially suitable for the modification project due to the mini impact the to the main structure.
